The Jinbo vapour permeable membrane produced by China manufacturer Xia's is installed on the indoor side of the insulation layer, with extremely low vapor permeability to prevent indoor moisture from penetrating into the insulation layer. When combined with a waterproof breathable membrane, it forms a comprehensive moisture-proof system featuring "internal isolation and external drainage".

What is the Vapour permeable membrane ?

The Vapour permeable membrane is a building-grade dense polymer membrane developed by Jinbo House Dress, manufactured by Xiongan Xia's Packing. It is applied to the inner surface (warm side) of wall and roof insulation layers, serving as the core material in building envelope moisture-proof systems. Featuring a tightly structured network of non-connected micropores with a water vapor permeability of ≤10 g/m²·24 h, it effectively prevents indoor warm and humid moisture from penetrating the insulation layer through its exceptionally low permeability. When combined with an external waterproof permeable membrane, it forms a comprehensive moisture control system that provides internal vapor barrier protection and external moisture drainage.

Vapour permeable membrane Installation Method

1. Install the insulation layer on the indoor side (heating side); simultaneously apply a waterproof and breathable membrane on the exterior side.

2. Overlap specifications: The membrane material overlap width shall be ≥10 cm; for corner joints, the overlap width shall be 1–1.5 times that of the main frame joint.

3. Sealing treatment: Overlap joints, pipelines, and door/window openings shall be fully sealed with waterproof vapor barrier tape or butyl tape; damaged areas shall be sealed using flexible waterstop tape or repair tape.

4. Fixed tools: Insulation nails and stud gun for fixation; apply interface agent on rough substrates in advance to enhance bonding strength.

5. Complete structural steel roof system: Lower steel plate → vapor permeable membrane→ insulation layer → waterproof and breathable membrane → upper steel plate; Roof system with tiles: Con  crete base layer → vapor permeable membrane → insulation layer → waterproof and breathable membrane → tile strips → tile surface.
