Breathable Airtightness Membranes

Breathable Airtightness Membranes launched by Xiongxian Xia's Packing are premium three-layer spunbond polypropylene composite microporous building materials under our exclusive House-Dress series. Available in multiple grammage options ranging from 90–220 g/m², these House-Dress membranes support OEM white label and custom overprint marking services for global construction projects.

The House-Dress series delivers reliable building envelope protection. Our Breathable Airtightness Membranes block liquid rain penetration while releasing trapped moisture from walls and insulation layers. This reduces moisture-related risks and lessens HVAC operating loads, widely adopted for residential buildings, commercial metal roofs, curtain walls and tiled roof enclosure assemblies.

Core Performance Advantages

W1 Water Resistance for Building Envelope Protection

The House-Dress membrane meets the W1 water penetration classification requirements for applicable EN 13859 applications. The W1 classification is determined using the relevant EN 1928 water penetration procedure. It helps prevent wind-driven rain from entering wall and roof assemblies and protects insulation from liquid water exposure.

High Water Vapor Permeability

Water vapor permeance: 10–20 Perms according to ASTM E96. Breathable Airtightness Membranes own excellent vapor permeability to help release moisture from wall and roof assemblies and reduces the risk of condensation and moisture-related deterioration when the building envelope is properly designed and installed.

Air Permeance for Better Envelope Control

Low air permeance helps limit unintended air movement through the building envelope when the membrane is properly installed and sealed at overlaps, penetrations and joints. Better envelope airtightness can help insulation systems perform closer to their designed thermal values and may contribute to lower heating and cooling demand.

UV & Weather Resistance

Our standard 150 gsm House-Dress grade provides a minimum 45-day UV exposure tolerance under specified test or installation conditions. After 168h UV aging plus 80℃ accelerated thermal aging, no chalking or delamination occurs. Operating temperature: -40 °C to +80 °C, stable for both cold and hot climates. Breathable Airtightness Membranes with higher grammage or upgraded grades are available for projects requiring longer exposure periods.

High Mechanical Strength for Harsh Construction Sites

Longitudinal tensile strength ≥290 N/50 mm; transverse tensile strength ≥220 N/50 mm; nail shank tear strength ≥40 N. Resists punctures and tearing during fixing with insulation nails, compatible with timber and steel frame construction. As robust Breathable Airtightness Membranes, they stand up to rough site handling.

PP Construction for Durable Envelope Applications

Manufactured with a polypropylene-based composite structure, the House-Dress membrane is designed for stable performance during installation and long-term building envelope use. Selected grades are available with B2 fire-performance documentation. Material and fire-performance documentation can be provided for applicable product grades upon request.

Installed outside the insulation layer, the WRB can help simplify wall and roof assemblies depending on the overall building envelope design. It may reduce the need for additional protective layers while supporting efficient moisture management.

FAQ

Q1: What is the difference between WRB breathable membrane and vapour barrier?

A: The breathable WRB membrane features high vapor permeability and installs outside the insulation layer. Vapor barriers have very low vapor transmission and are fitted on the warm interior side. Used together, they form a complete building enclosure system.

Q2: What UV resistance does your standard grade offer?

A: Our standard 150 gsm House-Dress grade provides a minimum 45-day UV exposure tolerance under specified test or installation conditions. Higher-grammage upgraded grades are available for long-term exposed cladding.

Q3: What about MOQ and samples?

A: Typical MOQ is one full 40HQ container. Small trial orders are negotiable for long-term partners. Free sample pieces available; buyer covers courier freight.
