Product Function Principles

1. Waterproofing Principle

The membrane body adopts a high-density microporous structure. The micropore diameters are much smaller than liquid water droplets. Rain, snow water, and condensation water from moisture cannot penetrate, thus achieving efficient waterproofing and preventing leakage.


2. Ventilation Principle

The micropore diameters are larger than water vapor molecules. The internal moisture generated by the building can freely be discharged in gaseous form, preventing moisture from being trapped in the walls, roof, and insulation layer.


3. Windproof and Thermal Insulation Principle

The membrane material as a whole is dense and continuous, which can block air convection. It reduces the penetration of cold and hot air and, when used in combination with the insulation layer, effectively locks in temperature, enhancing the energy-saving effect of the building.

Common Problems and Solutions

1. During installation, the membrane is prone to being scratched or torn.

Before laying, clean the joists, nails, and burrs. Fixations should be done promptly in windy weather to avoid pulling and avoid direct stepping on the membrane as much as possible. If necessary, use wooden boards as padding. Minor damages can be repaired with special butyl tape / breathable membrane-specific tape.


2. Leaking and ventilation at the joint.

The horizontal/vertical joints should be no less than 10cm. The joint seams must be fully adhered and compacted with the matching sealing tape. Strengthening treatment should be done at the corners (both corners and openings), and double-layer sealing.


3. Condensation and mold on the interior / walls.

Identify the marking: the non-woven surface / the marked surface should face the interior, and the smooth surface should face outward. Ensure the membrane is continuous and intact, do not randomly make holes or large holes, and ensure there is an exhaust channel on the roof / wall, allowing moisture to be smoothly discharged.
