Common Issues and Solutions in Construction Projects

Issue 1: The membrane is easily scratched or torn during installation.

Before laying the membrane, clear away any protruding studs, nails, or burrs. On windy days, ensure the membrane is secured immediately to prevent flapping and tearing; whenever possible, avoid walking directly on the membrane surface.

If necessary, place wooden boards over the membrane to provide a walking surface. Minor damage can be easily repaired using specialized butyl tape or tape specifically designed for breathable membranes.


Issue 2: Water leakage or air infiltration at overlap joints.

We recommend an overlap margin of no less than 10 cm for both horizontal and vertical joints. The overlap seams must be fully sealed and firmly pressed down using the corresponding sealing tape. Additionally, inside corners, outside corners, and openings should undergo reinforced treatment to ensure a double-layer seal.


Issue 3: Condensation or mold growth occurring indoors or within the wall structure.

Identify the Markings: The non-woven side—or the side bearing the product markings—must face the interior, while the smooth side faces outward. Ensure the membrane remains continuous and intact, avoiding arbitrary punctures or the creation of large openings; this guarantees the existence of ventilation channels within the roof or wall assembly, allowing moisture to be expelled effectively.
