Butyl rubber tape application scenarios

Steel structure–steel plate composite wall and metal roof project: sealing of horizontal and vertical lap joints for the waterproof vapor-permeable film; lap sealing on the interior side of the vapor barrier film; sealing around openings in metal panels and fan access openings.

External stone-clad or plastered curtain wall system: overlap and seal the waterproof vapor-permeable film on the outer side of the insulation layer; seal the gaps around the junctions between door/window frames and the wall surface.

Wooden structures, prefabricated buildings, and passive houses: airtight and watertight sealing for all overlaps, corners, and wall penetrations (including pipe holes) in building envelope materials.

Roofing work: Overlap installation of waterproof and breathable roofing membranes; sealing treatment for roof ridges, eaves, and pipe penetration joints. Membrane repair for damage: Patch repair of localized damage to waterproof or vapor barrier membranes during on-site construction.

FAQs

Can adhesive tape be used to repair damaged areas on membrane materials?

A：Yes. For the breathable version, apply an external waterproof and breathable film; for the thermal insulation version, apply an internal thermal insulation film. Before repairing, clean the area around the damaged spot thoroughly; ensure the adhesive tape covers the damaged edge by at least 5 cm.

Does it support samples and custom specifications?

A：Supports the mailing of test samples; customizable in width and roll length to facilitate third-party testing arrangements for clients.

When construction is carried out under low-temperature conditions, could the adhesive tape's adhesion fail?

A：The product does not develop any cracks when bent at 30°C; however, for application in low-temperature environments, it is recommended that the substrate temperature be no lower than 5°C. After bonding is completed, the adhesive layer will gradually reach the designed bonding strength.
