Vapor Barrier Window Wrap

House Dress Vapor Barrier Window Wrap is manufactured at Xiongan New Area factory under Xiashi Packing Co., Ltd. We supply this professional sealing tape for global building contractors, architectural designers and bulk building material dealers. Two types are available: exterior breathable window wrap and indoor reflective vapor barrier tape. They work perfectly alongside our House Dress waterproof breathable membrane and vapor retarder film to form a full window sealing set.

Original factory goods of House Dress Jinbo Vapor Barrier Window Wrap are directly supplied by Xiashi Packing. This sealing tape is specially developed to solve frequent construction troubles including window edge water seepage, indoor condensation and wall mildew, as well as poor air tightness around window frames. It builds a complete moisture protection system for the whole building envelope, and greatly cuts heating and cooling power consumption. It fits light steel buildings, curtain wall projects, large public venues and tile roof constructions.

Product Advantages and Specifications

This Vapor Barrier Window Wrap comes with a built-in aluminum foil reflective layer matched with waterproof breathable film. The combined structure can cut building heating and cooling energy use by nearly 40%, fully satisfying acceptance standards of green buildings and passive ultra-low energy projects.

Vapor Barrier Window Wrap factory

The vapor barrier type tape features extremely low water vapor transmission, which stops indoor moisture from seeping into thermal insulation layers. It fundamentally eliminates condensation, black wall stains and insulation aging issues caused by accumulated damp from kitchens and bathrooms.

The Vapor Barrier Window Wrap base carries good stretch and flexibility, with strong tensile strength. It can be bent freely to fit irregular window corners and offset joints. It follows the slight expansion and contraction of building structures without cracking or curling after long-time use.

It adapts to all seasonal outdoor conditions steadily. It stays tough at -40°C and keeps stable performance under 80°C high temperature. It passes the 168-hour accelerated UV aging test, and resists acid and alkali corrosion. It can be used reliably for long-term projects in coastal humid zones and frigid northern areas.

The substrate is recyclable and inhibits bacteria and mildew growth, with no harmful volatile substances released. The whole product adopts recyclable polymer raw materials and reaches Grade B2 flame retardant standard, suitable for high-standard green constructions such as hospitals, schools and industrial parks.

How the product works

The surface nano aluminum foil reflective layer of reflective window wrap can reflect over 95% radiant heat. In winter, it locks indoor heat and reduces heat loss through wall gaps; in summer, it blocks outdoor high-temperature radiation from entering rooms, lowering the running load of air conditioning and heating equipment to save power. Ordinary vapor barrier tapes only block moisture without the heat reflection function, leading to higher energy waste.

The airtight vapor barrier system takes high-density low-permeability polymer film as core material. Its low water vapor permeability locks indoor humidity inside, preventing damp from flowing into insulation through window frame gaps, so insulation failure and wall mildew can be avoided. Equipped with high-elastic butyl adhesive layer, it tightly sticks to window frames, concrete, insulation boards and OSB panels, forming a continuous airtight layer to stop condensation brought by air convection.

We adopt a two-way humidity balance design for window openings. Indoor reflective vapor barrier tape prevents damp accumulation inside buildings, while exterior waterproof breathable tape discharges residual moisture from wall layers. The separation & ventilation dual structure effectively solves dripping water and wall damp around window edges.

Vapor Barrier Window Wrap Before and After Comparison

Steel structure window openings in the Zhanjiang BASF Industrial Park

Before construction (only foam sealant + ordinary PVC sealing, without reflective vapor barrier tape window wrap)

Energy consumption data: During the winter heating period, thermal bridge losses through building window openings accounted for 37% of the total HVAC energy consumption, with monthly heating electricity costs for industrial facilities reaching ¥42,800. The lowest temperature on the inner surface of infrared thermal imaging window frames was only 8.2°C, resulting in a temperature difference of 11.8°C and significant heat loss across large areas.

Continuous monitoring over 30 days during the plum rain season revealed daily average condensation water accumulation of 120 mL per window at the joint between window frames and walls; the moisture content of thermal insulation rock wool was 28.6%, black mold spots appeared on the wall edges adjacent to windows, and the thermal resistance of the insulation layer decreased by 41%.

Air tightness: pressure difference of 50 Pa; air change rate at 50 Pa pressure differential (n₅₀) = 3.62 h⁻¹; window gaps account for 38.4% of total building leakage; severe cold air infiltration occurs.

The service life of conventional PVC tape typically begins to harden and crack after 6 months, requiring two annual repairs along the window edges.

After construction, apply House Dress Jinbo reflective window wrap cavity vapor barrier tape indoors throughout the entire house, and use matching waterproof yet breathable tape outdoors.

The energy consumption reduction achieved a 12% decrease in thermal bridge loss through the window opening, with heating electricity costs reduced by ¥25,100 and overall energy savings for heating and cooling reaching 39.9%, matching the theoretical maximum energy-saving value of 40% reported by NIST. The aluminum foil reflective layer blocks 95% of infrared radiation heat loss, raising the inner surface temperature of the window frame to 16.5°C and narrowing the temperature difference to 3.5°C.

Continuous 6-month monitoring during the rainy season demonstrated no visible condensation on window openings, stable moisture content in the insulation layer ≤7%, and no mold growth; the adhesive tape exhibited a Sd value ≥50 m and a water vapor barrier rate of 99.8%, effectively preventing indoor moisture from penetrating the insulation layer.

The air tightness has been improved by 50 Pa, with a pressure-difference ventilation rate of n₅₀ = 0.78 h⁻¹, meeting the ultra-low energy consumption building standard (n₅₀ ≤ 1), and reducing window air leakage by 78.4%.

The durable maintenance product has withstood 168 hours of intense UV aging and temperature cycling from-40°C to 80°C, showing no cracking or warping after three years of service, requiring no window-edge repairs or rework.
